FAQ

Questions before you book?

How hard is the rooftop tent to set up?

The rooftop tent is designed for quick setup and pack-down. We walk you through the process at pickup, provide a printed quick guide, and you can also watch the setup video: Thule Tepui Explorer Kukenam setup.

Is the Canada park pass per person or per car?

Family Pass valid for up to seven people arriving together in a single vehicle.

I'm planning my first camping trip. What should I know?

Don't worry, we have everything a comfortable camping trip requires. We also provide quick guides for the equipment we offer, including the camping stove, buddy heater, power station, and rooftop tent. We do encourage you to read your destination campground rules before arriving. If you are looking for inspiration, please check out our blog.

I'm traveling with a kid. What should I pack?

Pack some additional warm clothes, as nights in the mountains can be unpredictable. It is also a good idea to pack indoor and outdoor games so kids do not get bored around the campsite. We offer a games package as an optional add-on if you prefer to keep packing simple.

Where can I pick up the vehicle?

We are located in south Edmonton, about 18km from YEG airport. We do have optional delivery service for an extra fee. You can check exact pricing when making the booking, or message us to arrange a personalized pickup.

How does insurance and Outdoorsy protection work?

Bookings are handled through Outdoorsy, where guests choose an Outdoorsy protection package. Outdoorsy protection can include liability, comprehensive and collision coverage, and roadside and technical assistance, subject to Outdoorsy's terms and verified-driver requirements. You can read the current details on the Outdoorsy RV Protection Packages page.

Are there kilometre limits?

Both the Volvo XC60 and Toyota RAV4 include 200 km per day. Unused daily kilometres carry forward and pool across the whole trip, so a 5-day trip has a 1,000 km allowance to use as you like rather than a hard 200 km cutoff each day. Extra kilometres beyond the trip's total allowance are charged at $0.50 per km for the Volvo XC60 and $0.35 per km for the Toyota RAV4.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations are handled by Outdoorsy. Guests receive a 100% refund of the nightly rental amount, less the Outdoorsy Service Fee, up to 30 days before pickup. After that, guests are responsible for 50% of the nightly rental amount for the remaining days. If cancelled 7 or fewer days before the trip begins, guests are responsible for 100% of the nightly rental amount plus the service fee.

How much is the security deposit?

The security deposit is usually $1,500 and is collected by Outdoorsy. It is usually refunded within 3 days after the rental unit is returned in the same condition.

Who is allowed to drive?

Drivers must be at least 21, have a valid driver's licence, and be verified through Outdoorsy before driving.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, pets are allowed. A CA$140 flat, one-time pet fee applies, covering the specialized deep cleaning required after a trip with furry companions, including allergen removal and vacuuming of loose fur.

Are rentals available in winter?

Yes, winter rentals are available with winter tires.
